A surfer's paradise and summer destination par excellence, the Landes combine the pleasures of the sea with their 106 km of fine sand beaches which stretch along the Atlantic coast, from Biscarrosse to the mouth of the Adour, with the attractions of natural features of its immense maritime pine forest and its numerous ponds. It is also a hot spot for hydrotherapy with five renowned thermal spas including Dax and Eugénie-les-Bains.
The third town in the Landes department, Biscarrosse offers the setting of a very pleasant seaside resort on the Aquitaine coast, with the pleasures of seaside leisure, of course, but also beautiful hiking, horse riding or cycling in the largest forest in Europe, the Landes de Gascogne Forest and around its lakes.
Less than an hour from Bordeaux and 1h30 from Spain, for an active or “lazy” holiday, we will be happy to advise you. The museum of the traditions of Biscarrosse
Set off to discover the traditions and history of our beautiful Landes region. At the museum of traditions, you will discover everything there is to know about tapping (an activity very characteristic of the traditional exploitation of the Landes pine forest), or even objects typical of this corner of France. The Pilat dune
Between ocean and forest, the Dune du Pilat is 60 million m³ of sand and between 100 and 115 meters high, depending on the year.
Indeed, the Pilat dune is constantly moving and sculpted by the wind. Currently, the dune measures 2.9km long, 616m wide and 110m high and has an asymmetrical shape with a gentle slope on the ocean side and a steep slope on the forest side.
Each year, more than 2 million visitors come to enjoy one of the most remarkable landscapes in France, making it one of the most visited sites in the country along with the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.
The Pilat dune is located 15 minutes from the hotel.
